P60's if you have employment, employers have until the end of May to issue these 
- 
P11Ds if still issued, many employers now include these on your P60 
- 
Any working from home expenses

Self-Employment income​
- 
Self-employment income along with any expenses incurred (bank statements or invoices) 
- 
CIS Statements

Savings & Investment Income
- 
Interest received if over £500 
- 
Dividends received if over £500 
- 
Private Pension income (A P60 is usually issued for private pensions; state pension income automatically feeds the tax return) 
- 
Foreign investment income 
- 
Gains on Investments e.g. rental properties, share sales in the year

Property Income
- 
Details of any Property Income (Statement from Letting Agent or bank statement) 
- 
Expenses incurred on the property 
- 
Mortgage interest (if a repayment mortgage, the split between capital & interest is required)

Other Information
- 
Do you have student loan outstanding? What plan is it? 
- 
Charitable contributions if your income is over £50k 
- 
Child benefit received if your income is over £50k 
- 
Any other information you think may be relevant

This list is not exhaustive but in most cases will cover all that is required to complete a self-assessment tax return.
